By the time I was in middle school I was making different types of crafts and starting to draw and paint much more. I started entering design contests towards the end of middle school and throughout high school. When I was about fifteen years old I took a class called Computer Graphics. I had always enjoyed art, but up until I took this class I never knew what exactly I wanted to do in life. I was learning how to use Adobe Illustrator, and I fell in love with it.

Adobe Illustrator was just the start, I eventually got Photoshop and Corel Painter, as well as a Wacom tablet. By this time high school was ending and I was off to college in the fall. I had won a scholarship to the Art Institute of Dallas. I wanted to be a Graphic Designer, and I had no doubts about getting the degree.

I still have no uncertainties about being a Graphic Designer, except that I want to be more than that. I became very interested in advertising and web design too, and would love to incorporate them both into my career in the future. There isn’t many categories of art that I am not interested in at some level. Hand crafts, fine art, digital art, I want to do it all. I enjoy designing more than anything else I’ve ever done. I would probably live a decent life pursuing another profession but I don’t believe I could ever be satisfied if I wasn’t creating art.
